Maia’s father sampled the Jerry Blend (named for Grateful Dead lead singer Jerry Garcia) and really enjoyed it. He thought it was very smooth and not over-roasted (as compared to Starbucks). He enjoyed it so much that he would be willing to buy it again. Black River Roasters’ other coffees are from Sumatra, Rwanda, Peru, Mexico, and Timor. Maia had a delicious blueberry muffin!

Black River Roasters is an extremely special place because they roast their own coffee on site. Black River Roasters takes great pride in the fact that their coffee is fair trade, non GMO, and organic; some are even bird friendly. In the cafe space there are spacious tables, comfortable chairs, and light streaming through the windows. Additionally, the owner painted a beautiful mural on the wall, as shown in the included picture. It is a perfect place to sit and do work for a few hours.Black River Roasters has only been open for two years, but it is already popular with the local population. The decor and the friendly employees would make any customer happy. Add a cup of coffee and it’s heaven! Though Black River Roasters is far from Maia’s house, she loved going there so much that she can’t wait to go back and relax.
