Quality of Beverages and Food: 🍴🍴🍴🍴
The drinks and pastries are high quality and definitely worth the expensive price. The coffee was excellent and, although costly, completely worth it. There are also food options, such as pizza, available that looked very appetizing. Because it is technically a bakery, the food seemed to be advertised a lot more than the coffee, but both are good regardless.

Although it identifies as a bakery, walking in I instantly felt Dog Tag had the atmosphere of a coffee shop. With small tables to do work and booths to sit down, it projects the feeling that the customer should stay awhile. The atmosphere is family friendly and extremely patriotic. Seeing as it was founded by veterans, this is not surprising. The entire shop is decorated with red, white, and blue and has numerous patriotic phrases written across the walls. How busy the establishment was depended on the time; due to tour groups coming in to look at the shop, some of the time Dog Tag was incredibly busy. Fortunately, this in no way stopped the shop from having quick and friendly service. The neighborhood surrounding the shop is also busy but friendly and conveniently located walking distance from the Potomac River at the Georgetown waterfront.
For my drink, I had the hot chocolate, and, although it was hotter then I would have prefered, it was absolutely delicious and one of the better cups I have had. Others who tried the coffee found it excellent and completely worth the money paid. When asked where their beans come from, I was told that Dog Tag is supplied by a distributor called Compass Coffee which has its own string of coffee shops. Dog Tag Bakery does not choose what blends are given to them by the company, but it does have its own signature blend provided to them.
For not being a traditional coffee shop, the quality and atmosphere was everything that one would want in a quality bar. I recommend taking a trip to the bakery.
