Overall Rating: ☕️☕️☕️☕️
The entrance of the coffee shop is small but welcoming, with its bright lights, plants, and smell (the strong smell of fresh coffee is due to the fact that Peet’s keeps its freshly roasted beans in open bins). There’s a back room which is much quieter and has more tables and a view of one of the exits of Metro Center. Peet’s beans come from Latin America, Africa, Arabia, and countries in the Indo-Pacific region. They have different types of roasts: light, medium, dark, and extra dark, but they specialized in the dark roast. They also have an option for decaf and organic coffee. The drinks come in three different sizes: small, medium, and large.
The coffee shop I went to is located downtown, on 13th Street, between G and F Street, in a neighborhood surrounded by the White House and Chinatown. The location of the coffee shop is convenient in that it’s right by Metro Center, but it also means that there’re always people in the coffee shop. Peet’s opens at 5:30 am on weekdays, which is perfect for people who are going to work and want their caffeine fix.
Overall, Peet’s Coffee is a small and vibrant coffee shop with flavored coffee located in a convenient area of DC.
