What You Want to Know: Small coffee shop highlighted by their pastries. Middle of the road pricing with wifi.
The wifi here is pretty average, but the shop is arranged in such a way that it’s not really conducive to working for hours on end. Un Je Ne Sais Quoi is a coffee shop that is better suited towards having a wonderfully cute and aesthetically pleasing date with your significant other.
Quality of Beverages and Food: 🍴🍴🍴🍴
The coffee is brewed well and the illy blend that they serve is better than the average. The real calling card however, is the pastry selection–pretty much everything they offer is delicious and it’s all freshly made. The food selection more than makes up for any deficiencies found with the coffee (of which there aren’t that many).

Un Je Ne Sais Quoi is a wonderful place to get a cup of coffee and some food if you’re in the DuPont Circle area. The storefront is a little on the small side, and it is in a fairly busy area, so it really is not the place to be bringing a laptop to work on a paper. The owners are a husband and wife couple from France, and they work together to really bring in the charming atmosphere that envelops European coffee houses. The artwork in the shop is somewhat jarring to the eyes at first, but eventually it develops a Tim Burton–esque vibe that fits in with the rest of the shop. Additionally, be warned that the smart register is set to French, so you may want to brush up on your understanding so that you pay the correct amount. If you’re in need of a quick coffee pick me up, craving a tasty pastry, or looking for a cute date spot–look no further. And if you want to look at their products, check out their instagram @unjenesaisquoipastry. Seriously, check them out, you won’t regret it.
