What You Want to Know: Tryst is the ultimate hangout spot and getaway place from one’s fast-paced reality. It is chaotic yet relaxing but make sure to go at the right time as the place is usually busy. Tryst is like a merge of a restaurant, coffee shop and bar. They are pretty family-friendly but once the clock hits 9pm on a Friday or Saturday, the shop becomes 21 and over. The ambience however, is great on any regular day.
The Wi-Fi for tryst is free however, it is not available during the weekends or holidays. They are also a significantly busy coffee shop meaning even if there is Wi-Fi, it may not be too fast considering the amount of people at the store.
Quality of Beverages and Food: 🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴
The Food and Beverages at Tryst adds a lot to one’s experience at the shop. Although some of the coffees do leave an interesting or acidic (for the lack of better words) taste, it is still a good experience, especially with the complementary animal crackers. Their diverse range of breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert such as sandwiches, quiches, Quesadillas and cheesecake, to their own Tryst blend coffee, lattes, Cuban Coffee or tea—they’ve got it all. The Labneh Baguette on their all day brunch menu is delicious! And the cookies are great on the go or with your coffee.
Overall Rating: ☕️☕️☕️☕️
Tryst calls itself a coffee shop, bar and lounge. They have a variety of foods and beverages as well as alcohol after 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. It is one of the many busy locations situated off of Connecticut Ave in Adams Morgan and a must-go location for anyone regardless if you live in DC or like coffee. It is chaotic yet calming. The lively environment calls for more laughter and discussions rather than staying on an electronic device like many do at a coffeeshop. The customer service is great with a waiter or waitress reaching out to the table you “seat yourself” at within two minutes. The place is very spacious, something unexpected when looking from the outside, yet it gives off a calm and clichéd vibe with their wooden tables and chairs. It is a must go place for anyone! Whether you want to chill with some friends, get productive and do some work or just go have some unique single origin coffees, Tryst is the way to go. One caveat, Tryst is not a place for a quick bite to eat. The service can be slow so don’t go there if you’re in a rush! It can also be hard to find a place to sit when it’s busy. Tryst is best when you’re looking to sit for a long time and get work done.
