The house blend is roasted in Charlottesville, Virginia, its blend labeled “Java.” Originating from countries such as Guatemala, Ethiopia, and Central American countries, the beans used to produce the house blend led to a coffee which tasted tangy and left a taste in my mouth that was not necessarily unpleasant.

The actual coffee is great, but there is nothing special, in my opinion, about Greenberry’s Coffee Co. What I got there I could have ordered almost anywhere else. However, their range of single-origin and blends which customers can purchase to brew at home was impressive. Ranging from Costa Rican beans to Ethiopian, to a Mocha Java blend, the choices were endless.
The atmosphere of Greenberry is the same as the coffee, nothing special. It’s not bad; it’s not amazing. There was not a lot of seating, so if it is busy there is likely not enough room for everyone who wants to sit. The location, though, is perfect for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up if you’re already in downtown DC.
If you want to peruse through an aisle of many different flavors of coffee beans to brew at home, head down to one of the downtown DC locations or shop online at https://greenberrys.com/new-products/ .
