What You Want to Know: A small underground coffee shop offering great coffee and food. Located on 5012 Connecticut Ave NW Politics and Prose is an extremely accessible coffee shop with numerous bus stops near by. Something that is extremely important about The Den is that besides being a coffee shop, it is a place where musical and literary event are held.

The wifi was easy to connect to and I have no complaints about it!

Quality of Beverages and Food: 🍴🍴🍴

The Den at Politics and Prose offers a great deal of food all of which is locally sourced. At The Den they offer all three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Besides offering coffee or tea, The Den also serves locally crafted beers and New World Wine.

Overall Rating: ☕️☕️☕️☕️

While I was at The Den, I had an incredible time. During my visit I had the opportunity to overhear the manager interviewing a barista and was able to see how dedicated and demanding the service is. The furnishings, though simple, complete a homey, rustic vibe that attracts people from all walks of life, from new parents with their small children to fresh-faced college students to loyal patrons from years past. All in all, the shop itself is a perfect representation of what coffee shops can be. At The Den you can do anything; enjoy a good book, have a stimulating conversation, have a nice meal or just sit down and people watch while you drink your coffee.
